Damp proof course injection

Comes with a 30+ year life expectancy!

What is a damp proof course injection?

Replacing and existing damp proof course is a difficult and very complicated process. It involves a lot of structural work which can be problematic. It is also very time consuming and expensive so a chemical damp proof course injected into the walls is the most commonly used and cost effective solution to replace your existing damp proof course. The system works by a series of holes being drilled around the base of the property and our SecoMUR chemical system is injected into the hoes which form a new damp proof course barrier with a 30+ year life expectancy!

How does it work?

The new DPC works as the product seeps deep into the brickwork and prevents moisture from ground rising up through the brickwork via capillary action and causing the infamous ‘Rising Damp’. The chemicals are specially designed and have a consistency that allows the active component silane to be absorbed and then form a line in the capillaries this is what creates the new waterproof barrier.

The Public Health Act of 1875 set laws for ground-level damp proof courses in walls, all properties then should have been built with some form of damp proof course.

Most modern properties will have some form already installed and these protective materials are usually made from slate, bitumen or a plastic membrane and can decay. For example, it is possible for a damp proof course to crack due to subsidence or generally deteriorate over a period of time, allowing damp to rise through the walls. It is also possible for the damp course to be breached by rubble and debris within the cavity wall.

If you believe you may have an issue with your damp proof course (DPC) at your property then you should contact us immediately to arrange for one of team to survey your property.

Excellent customer service! James did a very thorough survey and identified a small breach in the tanking in the basement (not fitted by them) He was very knowledgeable and did his very best to find an ‘economical’ solution. He was very honest and I was able to conclude that at this point the cost of repair far outweighed the benefits gained. Should the situation change I would definitely use them.

Mr Fennell, London

Had a meeting with their surveyor Andrew yesterday 15/02/2022. I have to say he was very professional. Very happy with the quote we have been given and hoping to go ahead with the work early summer. I can’t wait to see the finished product!

Spoke to a very polite and friendly chap called Jack on the phone who explained all about the exterior painting they do, and I decided to have a survey. The surveyor Stuart was very knowledgeable, and I’ve decided to go ahead with them. There’s too many cowboys out there, so it’s nice to see such professionalism from a company for once.

Great company from initial call to completion. Gave quote with no hidden extras, started and finished on time – the finished product looks great. Kris & Nathan were stars of the show, arrived on time, worked hard all day, polite and personable, cleaned up when finished, a credit to the company.

I was very please with the work the company has done. I had damp throughout the house so had damp-proofing including an injection of damp course. Given the extent of the job they completed the work efficiently and with minimum disruption. The workmen were always polite and very helpful. The finished work was excellent. Only time will tell if the damp problem has been sorted but the company made it they would come back to fix any issues. I have no doubt they are true to their word and would recommend them to anyone.

I spoke to Jack on the phone, who was very friendly and professional. Then James performed our survey. I found James and the experience with the Home Building & Surveying Company very refreshing, compared to others I have used in the past. They were very honest in their assessment and responses, with no hidden extras, providing very valuable advice. I am, and will in the future recommend them to anyone with damp challenges.

Damp-proof barrier

Superior technology

secoMUR® is engineered with microFORMULA® technology, which achieves a deep penetration and “Cross-Link”-effect in the interior of the wall and triggers a much faster and more complete bond reaction within the pores of the wall. It is the ultimate damp proof course against rising damp. After drilling a series of holes as close as possible to the ground level, secoMUR® is injected, creating a horizontal barrier against rising damp.

Benefits of secoMUR®

  • Superior performance and a long lasting cure
  • Deep penetration into the substrate
  • Active barrier against rising damp in all directions

  • Cost effective and affordable system
  • Quick and clean application
