Warm in winter, cool in summer
ThermoSilicone RenderSystem draws on the latest advances in the manufacturing of ultra high-performance composite materials to offer an external wall render system with outstanding thermal insulation properties and a high degree of vapour permeability.
Regular render products have two functions; they provide a weatherproof and decorative finish for external walls. ThermoSilicone render provides a decorative, weatherproof finish but it also insulates which means reduced heating costs, a warmer home in winter and a cooler, more comfortable home in summer.
Thermal Resistance: The Key!
Heat loss through the walls of our homes occurs primarily because of poor ‘thermal resistance’. Put simply, un-insulated walls allow heat to travel by conduction from the interior to the exterior without much resistance. The ThermoSilicone Render System uses ultra- lightweight expanded Perlite in its base layer to create an uninterrupted, highly efficient thermal barrier to heat conduction.
This thermally efficient base coat is finished-off with a breathable, silicone mineral top-coat that utilises ceramic microspheres to further disrupt the path of heat transfer. When we increase the thermal resistance of our walls, less heat can travel through them in either direction, so we reduce heat-loss in winter and heat-gain during the summer.

The ThermoSilicone system
ThermoSilicone is not just a top coat. It is a complete insulating render system designed to improve thermal performance while giving the property a durable external finish. The system combines breathable primers, an insulating base coat and a silicone finishing render to create a continuous layer across the wall surface.
Insulation values and performance
R-Value (Thermal Resistance) figures for different application thicknesses of the system. These figures are illustrative and are are provided to show the improvement in thermal performance in the scenario of a single skin masonry wall with, and without, a ThermoSilicone application.
Note: Thermal Resistance is referred to as the R-Value in insulation calculations. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulative properties. U-Values are calculated taking into account the R-Value of each component of the wall make up.

Where Your Home Loses Heat
A significant amount of heat can be lost through poorly insulated external walls. According to the Energy Saving Trust, around 33% of all heat lost in an uninsulated home escapes through the walls, which is why improving wall insulation can make such a noticeable difference to comfort and efficiency.
Government figures also show how common the issue still is. At the end of 2024, only around 10% of properties in Great Britain with solid walls had solid wall insulation, meaning the vast majority were still losing heat this way. ThermoSilicone helps address that by creating a continuous insulating layer on the outside of the property, helping reduce heat loss, retain warmth indoors, and protect the external wall surface at the same time.
